“This April has been a crazy month, but we made our big book deadline! It was certainly stressful, but it was also way, way more fun than I expected it to be. I’ve always loved writing, but this was different. First of all, working with one of your favorite people in the whole wide world means that you never actually FEEL like you’re working. Secondly, we had amazing recipe testers helping us out with the best comments ever and so much encouragement and support. (My favorite comment had to be one that included the phrase ‘Copernican Revolution.’ Doesn’t that make you excited for our book to come out??) Lastly, we created something that we’re both really excited about and we can’t wait to see the end result!
Now it’s time to unwind. My husband and I are headed to Tahiti and Bora Bora tomorrow for nearly two weeks! Cross your fingers for us that it doesn’t rain the whole time; the forecast does not look promising.”
*Too funny. #9/10/11/22 are so great.
*Gorgeous cake, and how genius is it to color powdered sugar with ground freeze-dried fruit??
*What an interesting ingredient, I can think of so many dishes to use it in!

“You guys. This week’s travel! Amazing and ludicrous all at once. First, let’s chat about last weekend. I was lucky enough to hang out with my favorite pocket friends in Seattle for The Blathering. I ate a million things (including some of the best fish and chips in my life, pictured above) and learned that I really, really love gin and had a fantastic time with a group of ladies that I see far too little. (There was a lot of brainstorming going on about compounds.) My favorite moment was probably this little video, a love letter to our friend Caitlin who couldn’t attend.
After 18 hours in Toronto (Hilarious typo: I originally wrote 18 YEARS. Because it FELT LIKE IT.), I got back to the US just in time for a face mask and champagne date with Alyssa before her trip. I know she doesn’t live here but considering the amount I get to e-hang with her, it feels very very sad she’ll be gone for a few weeks. I hope it’s a great trip! (I guess.)”
* Hey, what’s that t-shirt say? (SO HILARIOUS. I keep it open in my browser tabs for a quick laugh.)
* Tea party paper plates that are prettier than a lot of non-paper plates.
* Aw, don’t worry buddy. My heroes make me feel the same way.
