“This week was full of friends we haven’t seen in a while, too much craft beer, and several delightful calls with my favorite, Carla! It was a great week, although a little busier than I prefer! I like to have one, maybe two, big projects every week, along with the normal weekly blog posts. Which gives me some down time in between. What about you? Do you like to be busy all the time or do you need time to recharge your batteries?”
*AAAH! Of course the Museum of Tea Culture is shaped like a teapot! Delightful. And this is the most adorable gas station I can even imagine, also shaped like a teapot.
*Pizza with butternut squash and smoked mozzarella. I’ll take 2, please.
*These cheesecloth ghosts are so cute! They seem pretty easy to do. I want to make a whole swarm of them!

“A couple weeks ago, we went to visit my boyfriend’s sister and brother-in-law a few hours away in Wine Country. The weekend was ALL about my favorite food: caramelized onion cheese, s’mores on a real backyard fire pit, olives, etc. (I should point out that I didn’t have anything to do with the theme- we’ve started a competition of who can be the best host and I think they were really working on bribing the judges.) To spruce up Sunday morning breakfast, we brought up a box of Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Pumpkin Pancake mix (which, incidentally, I HIGHLY recommend.) After some twists and turns with the recipe where I was accused of overusing butter (#notpossible), a bit of the batter was turned into these charming waffles. And THEN I was instructed to take this photo and add the caption: “Hashtag: DELICIOUS.”
I’ve now fulfilled my duty, but mostly I dare you to ever think of waffles without using that line again. :)”
*It’s entirely true that I want to buy all the things at Target on every visit, but really. I NEED this rose gold flatware. You understand.
* The Empowerment Plan. Yup, I cried.
* The National Geographic 2014 Photo Contest. A can’t miss collection of images year after year.

One year ago: Pumpkin ice cream with salted caramel sauce. When you want fall flavors but it’s too warm for soups and stews.
Country Living added our DIY Candy Corn Trivets to their roundup of Last Minute Halloween Decorations You Can Make in a Flash.

Aah! Pick up a few sets of that flatware for me?? I HAVE TO HAVE IT.

I couldn’t FIND it at Target. Don’t worry, I’m still on the hunt! Isn’t it amazing?!
Kelly - A Side of Sweet says
You gals are TOO fancy with your two column setup! I’m so impressed that you manage to stay in touch even being on opposite sides of the earth! It’s about dang time target jumped on the colored flatware bandwagon!
Carla says
Awww, we love the two columns too! (And seriously, Target FINALLY came around. :))
Cheryl says
I’m going to second the amazement with the two-column setup. So organized! Also I need the rose gold flatware….. ‘kaaaaaaaay, thanks.
