Carla is working on her tan in MEXICO, so you’ll have to settle for only my boring part of this week’s Love Letter 😉
And we’d like to thank all of our active servicemen and women for their dedication to our country. Thank you to all veterans and for those who have given their lives to protect ours. We’d also like to extend our respect and thanks to the families of those that serve for their sacrifices as well.
“Moving to a different country, especially one as homogenous as Japan, can really put a damper on your social life (did you know that the population of Japan is 99% Japanese? That’s some serious culture shock to an American). And leaving our friends in the SF area was one of the hardest parts. They’re not just friends, they’re our family! And these aren’t just friends that we saw on weekends, either, but we also had close friends that we worked with and saw on a daily basis. Going from that to absolutely nothing was quite shocking. Now that we’ve been here for two (!) years, we have an amazing set of friends from all over the world and a variety of backgrounds. And this was a friend week; dinners, lunch dates, beer & pizza, etc. It’s so, so nice to have established a new network of interesting, intelligent, kind, fun people!”
*I know that everyone and their mother reads Joy the Baker (as we all should; she’s AMAZING) so you’ve probably already seen these. Grownup Jello shots taken to a whole new level. I can’t wait to play around with the concept.
*Because your bike needs love too.
*House of Brinson takes the most amazing photographs, and they’ve partnered with Great.ly to create an art print of one of their dark, moody floral photos. It’s definitely pricey, but art generally is!
