“The highlight from the past week was a trip to the Tokyo Dome for a ‘festival of festivals’ where we ate lots of street food and tried different Japanese craft beers. The festival was split into different regions of Japan where they showcased various festival foods and local handmade items. They also have performances that give people a taste of cultural highlights from the different areas. My husband took this photo of a man hand-cutting soba noodles for one of the booths.”
*I am obsessed with the 2014 line of camera straps from Bloom Theory. I love to take stealth photos around Tokyo, and one of these would make that giant camera around my neck even less conspicuous. Right now I wrap a scarf around my strap, but these scarves looks like a WAY better option!
*How amazing are these orange-peel votives? I have been practicing peeling my mandarin oranges all week, and I have yet to get one that looks like the pictures. But I’ll keep trying, because these are ridiculously cute and I must have them at my next dinner party.
*We discovered the lovely ladies behind the textiles in this Etsy shop when they liked Alyssa’s DIY ombre fabric covered notebook. And we can’t get enough of their gorgeous, mordern prints! Especially this coral one.

“A few months ago I was at work late when a coworker started talking about running a half marathon in April. At the time, April was far away. So much possibility before April! Who KNOWS what will happen by April! Spoiler: it’s almost April. And I haven’t run a mile in weeks. So, this week I’m starting all over again. Bring on the foam roller and the Gu packs. (PS- If you run too, let’s start a support group. We can call it “Hating Every Mile But Doing It Anyway”!”
* A former co-worker of ours up and moved to Vancouver with his super creative wife last year and now they’ve opened up a shop of organic scents that aren’t just pretty faces- a portion of their profits go to animal rescue organizations! Happy Spritz sure makes me happy.
* My gym just announced a new version of Zumba- Zumba Step! While I wait to get into a class that works with my schedule, I spent some time looking at home workouts and find myself really liking this one– all you need is one dumbbell!
* Do you know of Simple Desktops? The site is full of, well, SIMPLE desktop images that work for any style/need/occasion. I especially love one of January’s latest versions- to me, ‘the top‘ is inspiration in it’s most brief and modern form. Love it.
