“The biggest part of my week was when I chopped 12 inches off my hair! It was sort of a last-minute, impulsive decision but I’m happy that I did it. I donated it to Wigs for Kids, and I hope it will help a child struggling with illness feel a little bit of happiness or excitement. The rest of the week was a blur of Christmas shopping, A&C posts and working in The Olive Scene stores.”
*We’re talking about gifts for those crafty DIY-ers this week! I think any hardcore crafter would be really excited to receive a set of Martha Stewart Glitter. I drool every time I walk past them in the craft store but it’s something I could never justify spending the money on.
*Nicole’s Classes has a great range of online classes or books for the creative types in your life. They have everything from Sewing 101 to a whole range of Illustrator and Photoshop courses.
*An ice cream machine is a gift that everyone can benefit from! Your foodie DIY-er can experiment with fun flavors and recipes while you get to enjoy the fruits of their labor! I trust Cuisinart for my ice cream makers, and you can get a pretty good one for under $50.

“Since one of my big cameras was a casualty of this crazy-busy week (anyone have tips on great repair service for Canons?), I consoled myself with these wooden camera cuties: two rubber stamps and a tape dispenser! This weekend is all about two family birthdays, finally getting a Christmas tree, finishing shopping for the rest of my list and maybe several mugs of tea.”
* A Dremel Engraver might not be the most gorgeous gift to look at upon opening, but the amount of projects a dedicated crafter could dream up using this baby is high. It’s been on my wish list for years! (And at that price- why haven’t I already bought it?)
*Get your DIY-er some Sharpies. Trust us. NO ONE turns their nose up at a rainbow pack of Sharpies!
* Even if your gift receiver isn’t a jewelry maker, they’ll love this Beadery kit of tools! Needle-nose pliers are needed for lots and lots of projects, as are wire cutters, tweezers and more of the items inside.
