Happy Friday! Here are some of our favorites from this week:
Paper straws: Biodegradable paper straws come in a huge variety of colors and patterns. They’ll add an extra festive touch to any of your parties, or use them at home to simply brighten up your day!
America’s Test Kitchen Best Quick Tips: we absolutely love ATK, so we were really excited to see their “Best Quick Tips” issue on newsstands right now. We got it for ourselves and to share with our friends who love to cook (Alyssa is even bringing a copy as a gift to her future sister-in-law for her bridal shower this weekend!). There are a few “why didn’t I think of that” ideas and a ton of “these people are brilliant!” ideas. Our favorite tip is to use a muffin tin with liners to organize your mise en place when cooking with a lot of ingredients. Just throw away the liner when you’re done, rather than having to wash a dozen little prep bowls!
Sur La Table’s Summer Sale: Now is the time to stock up on all the grilling accessories and summer entertaining pieces that you just couldn’t justify paying full price for. Sur La Table has some fantastic deals right now, like this On-Ice Divided Platter for $24.99 (normally $59.95!). But our favorite item is this Quattro Stagioni Canning Kit on sale for $11.99. It includes eight of the iconic Quattro Stagioni jars and lids, plus a canning funnel. The jars alone sell for at least $3 each, which makes this a total steal!
Fuji Instax Mini: With Alyssa headed to the East Coast with her family and Carla headed to Lake Tahoe with hers, it’s the perfect weekend for this little camera. Picking up where Polaroid left off, this easy point and shoot spits out wallet-sized instant photos- perfect for sharing, decorating and reminiscing.
GODIS Glass set from Ikea: We all tend to think of Ikea for a cheap nightstand, Swedish meatballs and a new couch cover. But don’t forget that they have some of the most fun and inventive housewares around! Check out the great design on this cute little glass set, we’re obsessed!
Microwave Rice Krispie Treats For One: We understand, sometimes you just need a treat. And what could be better than treat recipes that make enough for one! We’ve seen brownies and mug cakes, but here’s an easy little recipe for a crunchy rice krispie treat!
