Summer nights are so perfect for entertaining. It’s warm enough that you can sit outside in the evenings (with a few citronella candles). We plan on taking advantage of the fleeting summer weather with a cocktail party, and here are a few ideas!
To eat: Margarita Watermelon. It’s watermelon soaked in tequila and lime juice then dipped in margarita salt. It’s a cocktail party, after all!
Crostini with assorted toppings. Make crostini with crusty Italian or French bread. Set the bread out with fresh ricotta, tapenade, balsamic-marinated cherry tomatoes, olive oil and flaky sea salt.
To drink: An aqua fresca bar lets people customize their own drinks. Make a few different flavors of aqua fresca (we love papaya, mango, strawberry) and put out tequila, vodka and rum. Add a few garnishes, like lime wedges, mint or skewered fruit. Check out our aqua fresca loves from last week’s Friday Favorites.
To decorate: Make some of these adorable mason jar lanterns. Use citronella candles to help keep the mosquitos away. They’re colorful and functional!
To wear: A breezy summer dress with a light sweater to keep you warm in case the night cools off.
