When I told my husband that I was making Nutella cappuccini today so that I could share the recipe with you guys, he actually giggled. Like a little girl. That’s how good these are. But they’re pretty rich and decadent, so I don’t make them very often. They’re definitely a special treat, which explains the giggling.
This is the super-easy version of this recipe, but you can feel free to complicate it however you see fit! I use espresso powder, but you can certainly use real espresso shots. I also use a blender, but if you have a fancy espresso machine with a milk frother or one of those cool handheld frothing wands then you can use those instead.
You can leave out the espresso to make this recipe kid-friendly. It’s just as tasty as Nutella hot chocolate, I promise!
Nutella Cappuccino
serves 2
2 cups of milk (it will obviously taste best with whole milk, but any kind will work!)
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 tablespoon espresso powder (or more, if you like it stronger)
Pour the milk into a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer, remove from heat.
Pour the milk into a blender. Add Nutella and espresso powder. Run the blender on medium power until ingredients are well-combined, about 15 seconds. Fill mugs or glasses halfway with the hot milk mixture, leaving some in the blender.
Run the blender on high power to froth the remaining milk. Spoon the frothy milk into mugs.
If you want to be extra-fancy, garnish with a dusting of espresso powder or cocoa powder. Or chocolate shavings. Or Irish whisky. 😉

Hi Becca, I’m so sorry it didn’t work for you! Can you tell me what kind of milk you used? And what was wrong with the end result? I’d love to be able to help you and make suggestions for people who try to make the recipe in the future.
